We are excited to announce we will be hosting a Photo Charter Day with 30742 Charters at Bodmin Railway on the 31st of March and 1st of April.

This is a unique two day opportunity for photographers and videographers of any level to visit our railway and take some beautiful photos! You will have full use of both lines down to Boscarne Junction, as well as Bodmin Parkway. With the restoration of our China Clay Wagons, you can expect to have a short set available to enjoy. The rails should be lowered so the clays will not have the hoods up; along with GWR Small Prairie 5553.
Tickets are available to buy from Eventbrite and can be purchased as a two day ticket or single day ticket.
What to expect from the Photo Charter, Day 1 (31.03.23):
A full day with 5553 on china clay wagons, with both branch lines to Boscarne Junction and Bodmin Parkway to feature. As a guide this event will be a 9:00 start and a 17:30 finish. A Cornish pasty for lunch and our station café open for other food and drink choices.
This will be a fabulous opportunity to recreate some classic scenes from the steam era, with Small Prairies featured on many of the china clay lines in Cornwall.
What to expect from the Photo Charter, Day 2 (01.04.23):
Another full day, beginning at 9:00 with a 17:00 finish, with use both branch lines. On Saturday we will reverse our start and go down to Bodmin Parkway allowing the morning shots around Dreasons Wood and Charlies Gate, followed by an afternoon session down to Boscarne Junction.
The current plan is for 5553 on a couple of Carmine and Cream Coaches using both branch lines and capturing scenes commonplace in the 1950’s and early 1960’s when small prairies were the staple motive power on the Bodmin Road (now Parkway) to Bodmin General and onto Wadebridge lines.
A Cornish pasty for lunch and our station café open for other food and drink choices.
Tickets for £97.50 available to purchase now!
