Santa by Steam – Selective Dates in December

Board the train with Santa and his elves, as you take a single branch line (return) trip from Bodmin General to Bodmin Parkway. Each child will receive a plush toy gift.

Steam trains running every weekend in December from Saturday 2nd of December until Sunday 24th of December. Also operating on Thursday, December 21st and Friday, December 22nd of December.

Departure times: 10:00, 11:30, 13:00 and 14:30.

Murder Mystery Trains – 7th, 14th & 21st

‘1950s  Train to Nowhere’ –

Jump on board the train to stardom! A 1950s Hollywood party, an eccentric director, and a movie cast. Hollywood stars and has-beens, jealousy and corruption are all prominent guests. Watch and listen closely as the stars fight for success. Is it really worth dying for?  Is murder a fair price for the role of a lifetime? Is this a train to stardom, or in fact, ‘The Train to Nowhere’! Get those grey cells working, and question the cast if you wish to try and piece together the puzzle. If you can solve the mystery, your name will be put into a draw, and you may be lucky enough to go home with the winning prize.

Running three Thursdays in December – 7th, 14th and 21st

Storytime with Santa – Tuesday 5th & 12th and Wednesday 6th & 13th 

Spend a cosy evening onboard our steam-heated coaches and listen to Santa read a Cornish Christmas novel. Enjoy your hot chocolate and cookie, included with every ticket and follow along with your very own copy of the book (included with child ticket only). Have the chance to meet and greet Santa as he walks through the coaches at the end of the story, collecting Christmas wish lists as he walks along.

The event will take place on the evenings of Tuesday, December 5th and 12th, and Wednesday, December 6th and 13th.

Please note that the coaches are stationary for the duration of the event. This event does not include a train ride.

Christmas Wreath Making – Tuesday 5th & 12th 

Hop onboard our steam-heated coaches for a crafty Christmas event. Create a beautiful Christmas wreath from Cornish-grown foliage and enjoy a glass of fizz while doing it! Each ticket also includes a pasty and hot drink lunch. No need to bring any extra’s; just yourself and a small pair of garden snips or cutters.

Event running during days of of Tuesday 5th and 12th of December.

Please note coaches are stationary for the duration of the event. This event does not include a train ride.

High Tea with Santa – Tuesday 5th & 12th and Wednesday 6th & 13th 

Enjoy a private Santa experience aboard his Christmas carriage. Bring along your closest friends and family, as Santa is inviting you for an exclusive tour of his Victorian carriage, along with serving up a yummy Cornish cream tea, reading Christmas novels, talking about Bodmin Railway, and making Christmas wish lists!

The event will take place on the evenings of Tuesday, December 5th and 12th, and Wednesday, December 6th and 13th.

Please note that the carriage is stationary for the duration of the event. This event does not include a train ride.
