We are thrilled to announce that we have been working with Rapido Trains UK to bring to you the Bagnall Port of Par ‘Twins’, Alfred and Judy, models in 00 gauge.
Arguably two of the most highly recognised small industrial steam locomotives and iconic to the Cornish china clay heritage and Bodmin Railway. Built in 1936 and Alfred, delivered in 1954, were the optimal locomotives to haul clay around Par Harbour during their working lives, as their low profile meant they could pass under the 8ft tall bridge beneath the Cornish mainline.
Due to their unique size and structure, Alfred and Judy have gained quite a following and for all the right reasons! Being some of the last working steam engines in Cornwall, it is an honour to have both Alfred and Judy both residing here at Bodmin Railway. Judy returned to operational condition just this year and has been out on our tracks at our gala’s, hauling brake vans and our newly seated clay wagon.
We are also excited to announce that working with Rapido Trains UK, we have the pleasure of being able to offer an early release for pre-orders. Meaning you can purchase either a pair of the models or the individual models on our website now!
All proceeds from purchases of any of the models will help us fund Alfred’s restoration which we hope to commence in Spring 2024.
