The BWR is among more than 2,700 recipients to benefit from the latest round of awards from the £1.57 billion Culture Recovery Fund. This significant award provides much needed support for the BWR to meet its continuing costs until - and in readiness for - being able to re-open this year.
The news we have all been waiting for is finally here! After careful consideration we decided that we will aim to reopen on Saturday 1st May, all being well. We will reopen with all the Covid-19 prevention measures required in place. Our station and trains are undergoing some heavy essential maintenance to ensure they are both ready for when we reopen.
The railway is currently closed due to the current third lockdown. However we are working tirelessly to ensure we are able to open later this year. We're aiming to reopen on Saturday 1st May 2021, all being well, and good progress is being made on many fronts to make sure the railway is in the best possible place to reopen.
The Bodmin & Wenford Railway has been announced as one of the successful recipients of funding in the Department for Digital, Culture, Media and Sport’s first wave of Culture Recovery Fund for Heritage grants.
