Our Driver Experience Days are unique as we are the only railway in the country where you will be able to pull a rake of carefully restored China Clay wagons and brake van.

Steam Driving Experience
Keep the fires roaring on a Steam Driving Experience
Join the crew on the footplate, shovel coal onto the fire, blow the whistle, open the regulator and feel the surge of adrenalin as you get hands on in control of a heritage steam locomotive.
The steam locomotive that you are driving will depend on what is being hauled at the time of your experience date. It will be a steam locomotive from our current operational fleet.
Diesel Driver Experience
Feel the raw power on a Diesel Driver Experience
Experience life as the Driver and Secondman of a heritage diesel locomotive built for British Railways over 40 years ago. Feel the power as you take the controls of a working former main line diesel, joining the crew in the cab for a day out to remember.
Please note specific locomotives are scheduled for specific dates, please see below. The scheduled locomotives may change if we face any operational or engineering issues.

Bodmin Parkway Shed Tour
Dates for 2024 being finalised.
Join us on this exclusive and never done before Bodmin Parkway Shed Tour!
Arrive at Bodmin General at 10am for a safety briefing and take the 10:30 service train departure to Bodmin Parkway. Spend just over 1.5hrs exploring the Shed, climbing on board our stored coaches. Guided by an experienced member of staff, learn about the variety of assets stored here. Return on the service train at 13:30 and upon arrival at Bodmin General head to the station Cafe to pick up your pasty and hot drink. At 14:35 be guided around Bodmin General, learning about the 1950s station.

Ticket per person £145.00 includes breakfast bap and pasty lunch.
The Ultimate Railway Experience

The Ultimate Railway Experience allows you to explore Cornwall’s Premier Heritage Railway, Bodmin Railway. Join us for the whole day and be guided around our 1950’s station, Signal Box, Workshops and Running Shed. Including a delicious cream tea lunch and a 13 mile round-trip on our branch lines.
