October:

International Coffee Day – 1st October

To celebrate all coffee drinkers and lovers on October 1st we want to give you a free coffee!

When you purchase one of our branded reusable cups, you we will give you a free coffee alongside. Visit any of our station cafes (Bodmin General, Bodmin Parkway and Liskeard Station) to take advantage of this offer.

 

End of Season Gala – Saturday 14th and Sunday 15th

Please check our ‘2023 Gala’s’ page for more information on this gala. It will be a mixed-traction event and with rover tickets for both days or a weekend rover ticket.

 

Bubble Car Day –  Saturday 21st

Join us for a exciting day as we run just the Bubble Car (Class 121020) on a bespoke timetable. A limit of only 60 seats – so be quick and purchase your ticket now! Tickets will be rover tickets, allowing travel across all departures.

Kids Go Free – June 27th until July 11th

Murder Mystery Evenings!

June:

At Bodmin Railway this June we have lots of offers and ‘free travel’ for all of our customers, whether you are a child, father, grandad or veteran  – this month travel with us on selective dates for FREE!

Father’s Day – June 18th

Join us for Father’s Day and celebrate that key male figure in your life, whether it be your father, step-dad or grandad! Bring them along to Bodmin Railway and enjoy a free ride as ‘DAD’S TRAVEL FREE’. Head to our ticketing page HERE and book your free ticket under the ‘Father’s Day 2023’ heading.

T/Cs: One free ‘Dad Goes Free’ ticket per paying adult or child ticket. Offer is only valid for the travel on June 18th 2023, on the first four train departures of the day (all-line tickets). Tickets purchased on this day cannot be transferred to a different date.

 

Armed Forces Day – 25th June

On Sunday June 25th Bodmin Railway celebrates and honours those in the who serve in the Armed Forces and supports the surrounding families and friends.  Present members of the Armed Force and families will be allowed to travel FREE on one of our all-line journeys, with presentation of their military ID card (MOD Form 90).

T/Cs: Free travel for Armed Forces members with valid proof on our first four train departures. Tickets purchased on this day cannot be transferred to another day. Family pass (Family of 2+2 ticket) can be purchased free for travelling families.

May:

Coronation Celebrations! Celebrate the Kings Coronation at Bodmin Railway. Over the May bank holiday weekend (6th -8th of May) we will be offering a Coronation Brunch Special on our 10:45 trains and a Afternoon Cream Tea Special on our 13:35 trains. Or sit back and enjoy a special King Charles Compartment for an extra special train ride.

 

 

10:45 Brunch Special –

Treat yourself this Coronation Weekend to one of our King Charles Brunch Box aboard our steam train.

Sit back and enjoy the Cornish countryside as you spoil yourself with a brunch box aboard a decorated carriage. The train will depart from Bodmin General at 10:45, heading down one branch line to Boscarne Junction before returning back to Bodmin General. At 12:00, the train will depart again and go out to Bodmin Parkway before returning to Bodmin General at 12:50.

Passengers will receive a hot bacon breakfast bap, or vegetarian alternative, a selection of pastries and fruit, as well as tea or coffee and bucks fizz.

Unfortunately dogs are not allowed on this service.

 

13:35 Cream Tea Special – 

Treat yourself this Coronation Weekend to a Coronation Fizz Afternoon Tea Box aboard our steam train.

Sit back and enjoy the Cornish countryside as you spoil yourself with an Afternoon Tea box aboard a specially decorated carriage. The train will depart from Bodmin General at 13:35, heading down one branch line to Boscarne Junction  before returning back to Bodmin General. At 14:50, the train will depart again and go out to Bodmin Parkway before returning to Bodmin General at 15:40.

Passengers will receive a selection of sandwiches, scone, jam/cream, cake and a mini bottle of Fizz!

Unfortunately, dogs are not allowed on this service.

 

King Charles Compartments (10:45 and 13:35 departures) – 

Looking to while away a couple of hours over the Coronation Weekend? Why not book a decorated private compartment that seats up to 8 people and 2 dogs. Jump aboard our King Charles Compartments and indulge in a bottle of prosecco and box of chocolates.

 

 

Spring Gala – Our first gala of 2023! *UPDATED TIMETABLE*

Join us for our first gala of the year, the Spring Gala! Taking place on both May 20th and May 21st, tickets for each individual day or weekend tickets are available to purchase HERE

Expect to see service trains hauled by Small Prairie 5553. Our diesel shunter on the clay trains, tickets for these trains can be purchased now on our website. Judy will be hauling our Autocoach, purchase tickets for an extra £3.50 on the day; as well as brake van rides.

Saturday Evening will also see an extra ticketed event with a limited 64 places only! The Saturday evening we will see Judy hauling our Autocoach – experience this extremely rare and unique opportunity by pre-booking your tickets now.

Timetables for both days have been posted below – please note the timetable may change if we face an unforeseen operational or engineering issues.

Join us this Easter bank holiday weekend and half term for our Easter Eggspress Trains! Come along for an exclusive railway Easter trail, as you hunt for Easter egg letters along the trackside and around our 1950’s station.

Celebrate the Easter half term holidays with us and join us for our Easter Trails. The trail will take place from 4th April to 16th April.

Bring along your mother or grandma on Mother’s Day this year at the Railway. Did we say? MUM’S GO FREE! Spoil your loved one with a Fizz Takeaway Cream Tea Box, including a delicious scone and bubbles.

Summer Season Murder Mystery Trains

Our 2023 dates and tickets are now live for our infamous Murder Mystery evenings.

‘1930’s – The Vanishing Lady’

Join us this summer season for our infamous Murder Mystery trains. Let the longest established murder mystery company in the West of England, Murder by Appointment, transport you back to the 1930’s – The Vanishing Lady” Murder Mystery Evening.

The disappearance of one of the passengers during the journey sparks interest and concern among the others. They must find the missing lady. But why? Who are they? And who exactly, do they represent?

Watch as the story unfolds, listen out for clues, get those grey cells working, question the cast if you wish to try and piece together the puzzle.

If you can solve the mystery, your name will be put into a draw and you may be lucky enough to go home with the winning prize.

Arrive at Bodmin General (PL31 1AG) at 6:30pm for a 7pm start, finishing approximately 10:00pm. Your ticket includes a Cornish pasty and a drink on arrival. All tickets must be booked in advance and remember to choose your pasty type when paying for them.

Please be aware that single tickets or couples may be seated with other couples.

Steam Shanty Evening

Brand new event for 2023!

Steam Shanty Evening

Welcome to our brand new event for 2023 – Steam Shanty Evenings. Join us for shanty songs, pasty’s, pints, and a trip on our steam train this September.

Featuring The Lemonaires from Mylor Bridge, Falmouth, listen and sing along as an array of songs from farming, to mining to fishing are sung along at the railway. Arrive at Bodmin General Station for the event start at 7 p.m., where you will be greeted by The Lemonaires and their first set of shanty songs. Pick up a drink and watch as they fill the station with their songs. Board the train at 7:40 p.m. for a single line trip down to Boscarne Junction, step off the train or listen from your seat as the acapella group begin their second set. Steam your way back to Bodmin General for the second half of the second set. Don’t forget to pick up your lyric sheet handout so you can sing along too.

Arrive at Bodmin General (PL31 1AG) at 6:30 p.m. for a 7 p.m. start, finishing at approximately 9:30 p.m.Your ticket includes a Cornish pasty and a drink on arrival. All tickets must be booked in advance, and remember to choose your pasty type when paying for them.
