If you live locally, you can enjoy very generous travel discounts on the Bodmin & Wenford Railway by purchasing a Local Residents Railcard. You could bring your family and friends as many times as you like during the year to discover the excitement and nostalgia of steam travel with a journey back in time on Cornwall’s only full size railway still operated by steam engines. Why travel miles for a day out when you can enjoy a great day out not too far from your own home..?


A Local Residents Railcard costs just £10, is valid for twelve months from the date of issue, and entitles you to:

  • Half Price travel on the price of an All Day Rover ticket on all days shown as Red, Blue and Green and Lilac in our timetable calendar.
  • £1 off the price of all special trains (Murder Mystery, Steam Beer & Jazz, Disco Train, James Bond Evening and Luxury Dining Trains)
  • £1 off the price of either a Day Rover or All Line ticket at all Special Events (marked gold in the timetable calendar).

 
A “Local Resident” is defined as a Council Tax payer in any of the following postcode districts:

PL13 PL14 PL22 PL23 PL24 PL25 PL26 PL27
PL28 PL29 PL30 PL31 PL32 PL33 PL34 PL35

When applying, you need to provide proof of residence (e.g. Council Tax bill), a passport-size photograph of yourself and the payment in full.
