Intrepid volunteers from the B&WR installed another 130 concrete sleepers at Bridge 15 (Crabtree Lane) on the Boscarne branch over the weekend of 1/2 February, in spite of the rain and storms that continue to batter Cornwall. Rails were disconnected and removed, life expired wooden sleepers were extracted, concretes then put into place, rails re-positioned and re-connected, ballast packed, and the line re-instated to 10 MPH running. Not bad for the 14 stalwarts who turned out on Saturday, and the 20 on Sunday. It helps to have your own 08 hauled Permanent Way train, and some impressive catering.
