The Bodmin Rail Preservation Society roadshow started its 2013 summer season with a visit to Trevithick Day in Camborne on Saturday 27. In spite of early morning rain not assisting in our preparations, the sun shone through, the crowds arrived, the cavalcade of steam rollers and traction engines performed, and bands played. We had a prime spot on Bassett Street, sandwiched between the Trevithick Society and BBC Radio Cornwall stands, with the steam engines parked up in front of us. Pictures by Jimmy James perched on one of the Daniel brothers machines show Shirley and Peter Robson manning the stand and greeting the Cornish public.
Forthcoming events where there will be a BRPS presence include:-
6-8 June: Royal Cornwall Show, Wadebridge.
19-21 July: Boconnoc Steam Fair.
10-11 August: Plymouth Model Railway Exhibition.
24-26 August: Falmouth 150 with Alfred or Judy and in association with Devon and Cornwall Rail Partnership.
These events require considerable manpower to run, and we are always looking for volunteers to assist.
Please contact Jimmy James at email@example.com or telephone 01726 814022 if you can assist.
