Paddington at Bodmin & Wenford Railway

Paddington at Bodmin & Wenford Railway

Event Date: 12th May 2018- 13th May 2018

Meet Paddington when he stops at Bodmin General Station for a unique visit in May. Steam trains, stories, music and one very special bear. Don’t miss it!

WHAT DOES YOUR TRAIN TICKET INCLUDE?

Here are the details of what your ticket includes, to help you plan how to make the most of your visit.

STEAM TRAIN TRIP You’ll take a return trip on one of our heritage steam locomotives, leaving Bodmin General Station and travelling out to Boscarne Junction and back. Including the time spent at Boscarne Junction, this trip will be approximately one hour and forty minutes.

MEET PADDINGTON You’ll have the chance to meet Paddington at the Boscarne Junction stop before returning to Bodmin General. Don’t forget to bring a camera or your camera for the chance to take photos. There will be toilet facilities down at Boscarne Junction during the event. The picnic area is wheelchair accessible, but please be aware that there would be a short distance to travel on grass.

ON TRAIN ACTIVITIES We’re very pleased to welcome the brilliant Story Republicans who’ll be telling tales on the train journey to keep you entertained. You’ll also have an explorer’s activity and colouring sheet to complete and some other activities to get ‘stuck’ in to…

MUSIC FROM THE FAIRGROUND ORGAN FEATURED IN PADDINGTON 2 We are delighted to have an exclusive appearance in the south west by the beautiful Fairground Organ featured in the latest Paddington film. You’ll have the chance to see the organ up close and hear it at work, powered in the traditional way by showman's engine ‘Gladiator’.

EXPLORER TRAIL: HERITAGE DIESEL OBSERVATION TRAIN ON THE BODMIN PARKWAY BRANCHLINE We will be running our Heritage Diesel Observation Train on the Bodmin Parkway branch line. If you’d like to follow the explorer trail and travel this line too, this is included in your ticket. This train will depart from Bodmin General after each Paddington trip, approximately 30 minutes after your train gets back from Boscarne Junction. The trip to Parkway will then take 30 minutes.

EXPLORER TRAIL: CORNWALL’S REGIMENTAL MUSEUM’S POCKET BEAR HUNT If you’d like to follow the explorer trail and visit Cornwall’s Regimental Museum to complete the Pocket Bear Hunt, this is included in your ticket. You’ll be able to make your own pocket bear to take home, as well as following the special bear trail around Bodmin Keep. It’s all bear-y exciting! Please note, sadly the Museum is not currently wheelchair accessible. Find out more about the Museum and their Paddington weekend activity on their website.
